There are so many beautiful things in life that could have been the inspiration for this collection. But lately, I've found myself appreciating the little things more than ever. Moments I've spent with family and friends, the sunshine, watching the sunset... all seemingly small moments, but, the ones that I remember the most.

'What Gathers in Small Spaces' is a collection about those things, little moments and feelings that take up more space within us than we realise.

We often overlook what is small because we assume it is insignificant. But small things can hold enormous meaning, and sometimes the smallest act can create something much bigger than we will ever see.

There are two parts to this collection: the 'Flow Edit' and the 'Elevation Edit'. Although they materialise as different paintings, they are driven by the same principle, just explored from two different perspectives.

The Flow pieces represent the small things themselves. The things that gather and build, eventually becoming something bigger.

The Elevation pieces explore the same idea from a different perspective, the understanding that something big has been made up of countless smaller moments, steps and decisions. You don't reach the summit of a mountain in one movement. You get there one step at a time. A single step is tiny, but enough steps will take you to the top.

And I think the same is true in life.

The little decisions we make every day don't always feel important when we're making them, and might seem insignificant on their own; like a hug, taking an opportunity, being kind when nobody is watching and looking after something small. But they can make such a big impact in the end.

The paintings throughout this entire collection are small in size, but my hope is that they too come together, like a drop of water that turns into a wave, transforming the spaces they live in.

And perhaps that's the real meaning behind this collection: just because something is small, it doesn't mean it doesn't matter.

A tiny painting can hold a huge amount of meaning.
